Frequently asked questions

Who makes American Journey pet food?

American Journey is manufactured by Chewy private label.

Where is American Journey made?

American Journey pet food is made in US.

When was American Journey founded?

American Journey was founded in 2017.

Is American Journey WSAVA-aligned?

American Journey is not on our WSAVA-aligned shortlist. That doesn't automatically mean the food is poor quality — many strong brands haven't pursued WSAVA recognition — but it means we lack independent confirmation of feeding-trial validation and on-staff veterinary nutritionist staffing.

Has American Journey ever been recalled?

No American Journey recall appears in FDA's pet food recall list for the last five years. A recall filed under a parent company's or co-packer's name may not be linked here; FDA's recall list is the definitive source.

How does American Journey score in our analysis?

American Journey averages 69/100 across 3 products in our catalog. Individual product scores combine ingredient quality, AAFCO compliance, and controversial-additive severity. See the methodology page for the full algorithm.
